One of the things that helped pass the time in Kuwait was the boxing program we set up there. It was a great time and kept me fit. It also connected me to a great guy SSG Robatille from a NH Engineer BN. He even knew my dad.
It also gave the camp some good entertainment. We called it Friday Night Fights. We would train in the morning and at night throughout the week and then set up fight rosters on Friday with the guys who wanted to fight.
Our Sleeping Tents. When we first arrived they did not have any Air conditioning or heat. About two months later we got A/C units, and some of the larger tents got A/C and Heating ECUs. In those first months we slept outside the tents because it was too hot inside at night to sleep in them. It was cooler outside.
The sunsets were amazing. Similar to AZ in teh respect to all the junk in the air making the setting sun very cool.
We did get one day to spend in Kuwait City and see the IMax theater and the Aquarium. I really liked the aquarium.
During the rainy season the camp flooded. It sucked. Driving was a challenge because areas that were drivable before were totally under water.
